Bass
Champions Restaurant and Lodge |
The buildings that consist of the Bass Champions
Restaurant and Lodge were constructed in 1979.
It was originally a home for abused women. J.L.
Snowden and his wife Michele Snowden purchased
the property in 2006. The Snowdens had previously
owned a restaurant in Boynton Beach, Florida before
moving to Salt Springs. The Restaurant and Lodge
is a family run business. J.L. does the cooking
and two sons assist him. Michele cleans the rooms
and books the customers.

The restaurant serves dinner only. It is closed
on Sundays and Mondays. “We serve steaks
and sea food. On Friday and Saturday nights we
have Prime Rib,” said J.L. “A lot
of people around here say this is the best kept
secret in the forest.” Briggs, the owner
of the ATV Adventure Tour said, “It has
the best food anywhere.”
There is no entertainment. However, Cactus Jack’s,
a local bar in Salt Springs has a band performing
on Friday and Saturday nights and is an easy walk
down the street from the Lodge. J.L. noted that
there are shops in a square in Salt Springs that
is only about half a mile from the lodge.

“We have a large parking lot that can accommodate
ATVs and trailers,” said J.L. “You
can call Michele to find out about special packages
and she provides a package to people who participate
