We also had the opportunity to check out the
high spirited 2015 Yamaha YFZ450R SE and were
not disappointed. There really is no other way
to describe it; the black, white and red SE
edition looks mean. We have always liked the
look of the YFZ450R but the color scheme for
the 2015 Yamaha SE brings out the aggressive
look of the quad even more.

While the Yamaha YFZ 450R doesn’t have the
low end torque of the Raptor 700R, it has gobs
of power. The mid-range hit is more than enough
to get you up the tallest dunes and go warp
speed on the flats. It is definitely a thrill
when you ride the Yamaha YFZ450R.
One of the benefits of the stiffer suspension
of the YFZ450R is that it can take huge hits
and not bottom out. It flies straight and is
very predictable in the air. So if like getting
big air, it is definitely the quad for you.
One of the things we really liked about the
2015 YFZ450R SE is the slipper clutch reduces
clutch lever effort by about 25%, which is noticeable
and certainly helps with arm pump if you are
riding aggressively and doing a lot of clutching.
The 2015 Yamaha YFZ450R SE is also perfect
for carving dunes. It is quick, nimble and easy
to maneuver while the ergonomics allow you to
really feel like you are a part of the machine,
which makes it effortless to carve the dunes
and feel planted to the side of the big sand
bowls out in the Glamis Sand Dunes.
While the YFZ 450R is a great quad for the
dunes, it is the top choice of many of the fastest
Pro ATV racers as well, and it definitely right
at home on the motocross track with Chad Wienen
claiming his third straight AMA Pro ATV Motocross
championship on the Yamaha YFZ 450R, and Dustin
Nelson has also won numerous Quadcross Championships
on the YFZ450R as well, and many more racers
have been announcing that they are making the
switch to the Yamaha YFZ450R for the 2015 racing
season, which proves the Yamaha YFZ 450R is
among the best in the class.

We had a great time testing the 2015 Yamaha
Raptor 700R SE and YFZ450R SE. Both of these
machines are exceptional in quality and performance.
No matter if you are looking for a plush, stylish
ride or an adrenaline rush, Yamaha’s SE models
are the perfect ATV’s for looking good and having
fun.
