This versatility can be attributed to the easily accessible low- and mid-range torque generated by its powerful, liquid-cooled, 271cc four-stroke engine. With a broad power range, riders will be grinning the instant they apply the throttle. This responsive powerplant complements the sturdy chassis, making for efficient work and effortless adventuring.
A continuously variable transmission (CVT) is partnered with a centrifugal clutch to help route power to the rear wheels. The optimal CVT ratios suit a wide range of conditions and help provide just the right amount of engine braking. This integrated system simplifies the process of slowing down and reduces stress when negotiating tricky downhill trails.
Hydraulically activated triple disc brakes, one disc for each front wheel and a third fitted to the rear axle, allow for maximum braking power. All three 180mm discs are squeezed by single-piston calipers that can be operated through convenient handlebar-mounted levers, the rear brake can also be modulated with a convenient right-side foot pedal.
Joint research between Kawasaki and Maxxis has led to the development of tires that allow for maximum traction when accelerating or braking. The Brute Force 300’s chassis works with the Maxxis tires to help provide balanced handling from the ground up. The result is great performance on the trails and optimal wear characteristics that help reduce tire replacement costs.
The Brute Force 300’s double wishbone suspension is responsible for much of this balanced handling, with five-way adjustable front shocks and a similarly adjustable single rear damper working through a swingarm. Damping and spring rates have been optimized to allow for maximum comfort in a variety of conditions, while one of the widest stances in its class enhances steering capabilities and helps provide confidence-inspiring handling.
Surrounding all this modern technology is the Brute Force 300’s strong styling, which is modeled after its larger Brute Force brothers. Whether you call it family resemblance or sibling rivalry, the result is plenty impressive, with tall, beefy fenders that offer superb protection from mud and debris, and angular styling that appears both modern and aggressive.
Riders of all sizes will enjoy generous ergonomics, with a wide handlebar for easy turning and half-waffle grips for enhanced comfort after hours in the saddle. Grip weights on the handlebar help reduce the amount of vibration transmitted to the rider’s hands. The saddle sports a flat profile and super-thick cushioning – just the thing when you have a full day of riding ahead.
The Brute Force 300 ATV sports many other features, including multi-function digital instrumentation that displays all manner of useful information, a handy DC electrical socket to charge your mobile device, (if you can find a signal), a gate-style shifter and a handy parking brake. There’s loads of overall carrying capacity, too – 44 pounds of capacity in the front rack and 66 pounds in the rear, as well as a pair of handy compartments, one up front and another built into the right rear fender. Towing capacity is a surprisingly strong 500 pounds, and there’s even extra space and a standard winch mounting bracket located behind the front grille.
As if an electric push-button starter wasn’t convenient enough, the Brute Force 300 ATV includes a backup recoil unit for maximum starting convenience. Meanwhile, the sturdy footpeg/floorboard design does double duty, offering riders plenty of room for their feet and helping increase the Brute Force 300’s splash resistance when the going gets sloppy. Finally, a 3.2-gallon fuel tank means this stellar combination of good times and utility will last a long time between fill-ups.
The overall result is a compact ATV that is unmatched by the competition. While it is not a big-bore monster ATV, the Brute Force 300 has the strength to deliver plenty of power where it’s needed and has the ability to tackle just about anything that man or mother nature can throw at it.
