2014 Kawasaki KFX 50 Introduction

When young riders age 6 years and older are looking to start riding ATVs with the rest of the family, they need look no further than the 2014 Kawasaki KFX50. With an environmentally friendly, air-cooled, four-stroke engine balanced on a wide 27.6-inch stance, Kawasaki’s introductory ATV helps young learners build a solid foundation for years of safe riding. And, thanks to the Kawasaki engineers who also happen to have little ones, it offers intelligent parental control features, full floorboards to protect feet, easy electric starting and beginner-friendly performance.

For those long afternoons when the kids just want to do laps around camp or out on the pee-wee track, the KFX50 features an adjustable throttle stop, CVT transmission with centrifugal clutch, speed limiter and lanyard safety switch for increased parental control while the riders build their skill levels. Once riders are confident enough to operate the KFX50 on their own, parents can still retain control over its operation, since the keyed ignition helps prevent any unauthorized use before the chores are done.

Sharing in the family resemblance, the KFX50 shares its styling with its larger KFX siblings and offers simple electric starting for operation by smaller hands. A-arm suspension up front and single-shock swingarm suspension in the rear help riders get over bumps with ease, while dual front drum and single rear disc brakes allow for quick stopping to avoid obstacles. This compact, entry-level ATV also incorporates full floorboards, which provide extra comfort and safety for the rider.

As with all off-highway vehicle recreation, Kawasaki encourages ATV riders to ride responsibly and to respect the environment. Kawasaki will pay first-time buyers of a new Kawasaki ATV $100 for completing an ATV rider safety course conducted by the ATV Safety Institute (ASI). Interested consumers can call ASI toll-free at 800-887-2887.
