Yamaha Raptor 90 ATV Styling is based on
the full size Raptor 700R |
Recognizing the need for a youth ATV that is versatile
and offers safety features for young riders, without
sacrificing performance when their skills improve,
Yamaha has introduced a new ATV to its mini line
up; the Raptor 90, which is a big economical value
for consumers who cannot afford to continuously
upgrade to accommodate growing skill levels.
The all-new Raptor 90 was designed after its
full sized sibling, the Raptor 700 and will be taking
the place of the Raptor 80. The Raptor 90 has many
features that young riders and parents will find
very impressive. It has a fully automatic CVT transmission,
and is powered by an 88cc air-cooled engine. It
has integrated full floorboards for added safety.
It also comes equipped with low profile rear Maxxis
tires that allow for plenty of traction and stability.

The front suspension of the Raptor 90 comes with
a dual A-arm design however; the 5-way pre-load
adjustable shocks of the Raptor 90 boast 4.4”
of front travel where the Raptor 80 only provided
2.3”. The rear swing-arm suspension set-up
is equipped with a 5-way pre-load adjustable shock,
just like in front, that has 3.3” of rear
suspension travel. The breaking system on the Raptor
90 comes with hydraulic rear disc brakes and in
front, it has dual sealed drum brakes.

A key feature of the Raptor 90 is the adjustable
CDI rev limiter. It is easy to adjust, so as young
rider control improves, the power can be adjusted
to accommodate their skill level. In restricted
mode, the rev limiter maxes out at 4800 RPM, while
unrestricted it revs out up to 8000 RPM’s.
The Raptor90 will come in two colors, either standard
blue, or white. The white color scheme offers two
different choices in graphics kits that should appeal
to both boys and girls.
