| Exciting New Changes for ATVA
                          National Motocross Pros in 2006!
 Pickerington, OH (12/9/05) -
With the 2006 ATVA National Motocross Championships
just around the corner, more exciting changes were announced
for the Pro Riders as a result of a recent meeting between
Pro Representative, John Natalie Jr, and the ATVA Race
Promoters. As ATVA MX racing continues to grow in popularity,
more fans and racers are following the series than ever
before, which has created new obstacles beyond the track
for many of the Pros. With less available parking, longer
registration lines, and more spectators, the race began
for many Pros before they ever reached the starting
gate. In an effort to help alleviate some of the added
headaches and responsibilities of being a Pro, several
changes are in store for next season. Pro Riders will be issued Identification Cards to help
facilitate the ability of the event staff to quickly
recognize the Pros from the Amateurs. Also, instead
of having the Pros scattered around the parking lot
amongst the amateurs, the Top 20 Pros will each receive
one Pro Parking Sticker and have standard sized space
reserved for their rig in Pro Pits. With all the Top 20 Pros parked in one central location,
it will erase the parking concerns for many Pros and
provide a spectator friendly environment for those seeking
autographs and meeting with their favorite racers. In
an effort to provide a safer environment in the Pro
Pits, it will be reserved for walking traffic only with
no rental/support vehicles allowed whenever possible. Also, to facilitate the Pros’ ability to focus
on the race and added responsibility of signing autographs,
rider registration will have a Pro ‘Fast Pass’
Lane, which will allow Pro riders to signup without
waiting in any lines. Other exciting changes are the Pro Purse increasing
to $10,000 and the Top 5 Pros in the current point standings
receiving the first five gate picks with the remaining
Pros drawing spoons for gate selection. The Top 10 Pros
in current point standings still automatically qualify
with the remaining ten positions determined from the
results of Pro Qualifiers on Saturday. For more details on some of these changes and many
others view the 2006 Supplemental Rules here.
