Fantasy Moto News May ATV Racing Update

Apptleton, WI (5/8/2007) - only twelve more days to the opening round of the Potawatomi Northern Cup Motocross Series presented by Rock River Powersports. This years opening round will once again take place at Nordic Mountain in Mt. Morris, Wisconsin as the “wheels” portion of the Water, Wheels and Ice Extreme Sports Weekend.

Comparing last year’s Nordic Mountain event to this year’s event is like comparing the kiddy rides in the entranceway at Walmart (last year) to a Six Flag’s Amusement Park (this year). The 2006 track was crammed onto the two smallest runs at Nordic Mountain. The 2007 track is sprawled out over the 3 longest runs! The holeshot sends riders directly under the chair lift into a 90-degree right hand turn and straight up the main run. Without a doubt – one of the best features for spectators will be the ride up the chair lift as the races are taking place below! No more woods sections, no more branches and no more roots. Instead there will be lots of elevation change, natural terrain and wide racing surface on tap for the new track.

Saturday, May 19th will feature the best talent District 16 has to offer as the NCM takes to the slopes. Practice at 8 AM sharp.

Sunday, May 20th will host round 2 of the Ultimate Quad MX Championships presented by Janssen Motorsports. Reminder to ATV racers that Sunday’s program will have a late start so that we can stay in line with the requirements of our conditional use permit. We will have the riders meeting prior to practice at 9:15 AM on Sunday with practice to follow. This is a slight change in the order of events as well as start time – please make the note. (This time change applies to Sunday’s ATV event only).

Here is what the folks over at Nordic have to say about the event.

“We've all heard the cliche "Go Big, Or Go Home." At Nordic Mountain we are making the cliche a reality. People have called us crazy to try to save snow until the end of May, but our snowmakers simply considered at a cool challenge, blowing over 20 feet of snow on Avalanche throughout year. We've since covered the snow and it will be here for the weekend of May 19th to the 20th!

On Saturday the 19th, we will have a special appearance from the Smith Optics Limo, and participants will get the opportunity to slide this awesome rail as part of the competition. You may have seen this limo at large national comps, and we'll have it right here at Nordic! Visit the limo's My Space page.

The rail jam serves as the "ice" portion of our Water, Wheels, and Ice Weekend. So what are the water and the Wheels? Fort Fremont Marine will be building a temporary pond out of hail bails in our parking lot to create a wakeboarding rail jam! Fantasy Moto will again be hosting a motocross ATV and dirtbike event on Saturday and Sunday to take care of the wheels portion of the event. For those of you who saw it last year, this year will blow it away...the races will be on our biggest hills and we'll have the chairlift running directly overhead for spectators!

Don't miss this rare opportunity to see Wakeboarding, Motocross, and Skiing/Snowboarding all in the same weekend--but wait, if you must miss, we are doing it all over again on June 2-3!!! (Snow permitting)

Come Friday and stay all weekend. We will have rough camping available, and Nordy's Pub and the Nordic Cafe will be serving great food all weekend. We are currently working on live music for Saturday night TBA.”

Pine Ridge Raceway’s Loretta Lynn’s Area Qualifier is this coming weekend, May 12 and 13. What to expect – close, fast racing! Mother Nature needs to be a little easier on this event for 2007 and we’ll more than likely see some new track records this weekend! See www.pineridgeraceway.com for details on the Loretta Lynn Qualifier.

Muddy 13 is hosting round 1 of both the Ultimate Mud Bog Championships and the Ultimate Dirt Drag Championships presented by MaxPower RPM’s on May 19 in Big Flats, Wisconsin. For more information on classes, times and prices check out their website at www.muddy13.com

Answer/MSR Contingency – with all of the major series kicking off within the next two weeks make sure you register for the Answer/MSR program so that ALL of your finishes count toward your 2007 totals.
