Raising Funds
for Breast Cancer
Because Men Get Breast Cancer Too
(3/30/06) -The Four Wheelin' Women was
first established in the summer of 2001, as a group of
18 women ventured out for a day of riding on their ATV's
and at the same time raising money for breast cancer and
educating the public that men get breast cancer too!!
The women rose over $4,000 and a memorable day was had
by all. It has now grown to 68 women in 2005, raising
well over a combined total of $35,000.00. This years fund
will be directed to
Barrie’s
Royal Victoria Hospital Mammography Unit.
Over the years, we have gathered together an elite group
of women, to form a committee, to assist with the growth
and development of this event. Many hours are put into
the annual ride, including presence at trade shows, gathering
sponsorships and supporters, registration, and several
other important jobs required to make the event bigger
and better every year. This year the ride takes place
on Saturday April 29th 2006!!
Product giveaways are always appreciated by the women
who attend the yearly charity ride and each woman receives
a Thank You bag filled with donations from generous donors.
They love to go home with mementos of their day of riding
and this is an opportunity for us to thank them for all
their hard work and effort in spreading the word about
men and breast cancer, as well as raising money for the
cause.
Throughout the day of trail riding, door prizes are
given away and raffles held to continue raising funds
for the cause as well as highlighting the many generous
prize sponsors. At our Saturday evening dinner, the
top fundraisers are recognized with thank you gifts.
We would appreciate your support for this event by
providing us with items for our Thank
You bags or larger items for our raffles.
This year we hope to have up to 100 riders and therefore
need to fill 100 gift bags! Your generosity will be
noted on our website as well as in any printed material.
