#12 GNCC Pro
ATV Racer Andy Lagzdins
Sidelined for "Spartan" GNCC with Fractured
Thumb
Baltimore, MD (6/7/2007) -
For the upcoming Spartan GNCC, Pro GNCC ATV Racer, Andy
Lagzdins, will be missing from the lineup due to a thumb
fracture, which required surgery. Lagzdins fractured
his thumb while competing at Round 3 of the OMA National
Series two weeks ago in Rio Grande, Ohio.
“I was pushing hard to make it onto the podium
when I hit a major kicker near the end of a fast straight
and suffered a broken right thumb. I hopped back on
the quad and my adrenaline flow helped me work through
the last lap to salvage a fifth place finish. When I
got back to Baltimore, the x-rays revealed a badly broken
digit, so the phenomenal Dr. Michael Marion plated it
back into position using leftover parts from Steve Austin's
bionic rebuild back in the day. I can't remember the
last time I missed a GNCC (I think it was 1999), but
I can't stand to watch without participating! I'm hoping
to be back soon to regain my OMA points lead, and also
see all my friends at the races,” said Andy Lagzdins.

A plate and several screws were inserted in Lagzdins
thumb to secure the fracture, and if all goes well,
he should be back in action by final round of the GNCC
Series before the summer break at Snowshoe Ski Resort
in West Virginia.
