(1/29/2007) - Two of the most competitive and
well-known riders on the GNCC circuit, Chris Borich
and Matt Smiley, have joined forces for ’07. The
two Pennsylvania natives have been good friends off
the track and fierce competitors on the track for several
years, teaming up to win the 12 hrs. of ATV America
in 2003 and 2004.
National #2 Chris Borich was on a mission in 2006 with
four overall wins and nine podium finishes, he provided
7x champion Bill Balance with his stiffest competition
ever, and provided the fans with some of the best racing
in GNCC history. For 2007, Chris is more determined
than ever to make that championship trophy his own and
is considered by most to be the rider most likely to
dethrone the current champion.
Matt Smiley, a veteran of the GNCC series since the mid
nineties, has finished in the top five overall for nine
of the past ten seasons, finishing 2nd overall in the
series three times. Last season Matt suffered from a knee
injury that required surgery and rehabilitation but with
a new teammate, new program, and the most competitive
equipment available expect to see an extremely focused
and determined Matt Smiley in 2007. Both riders
will be competing on TRX450R based equipment, with sponsorship

AMA/ATVA-sanctioned Grand National Cross Country
series is America’s premier off-road racing
series. The 13-round series is produced exclusively
by Racer Productions. Cross-country racing is
one of the most physically demanding sports in
