Grant Mitchell added his fifth top five finish in the WORCS Pro-Am Class to his resume for the season this past weekend in Milford, CA. Mitchell earned fifth on his Maxxis / Sparks / Elka backed Honda at round eight of Rocky Mountain ATV MC WORCS racing series.

Mitchell started out his race by grabbing the holeshot in the Pro-Am Class. “My Maxxis Tires and Curtis Sparks gave me a great jump off the gate and put me right into the lead,” explained Mitchell.

Mitchell held the lead for much of the first lap, but ran into trouble when he hit a whoop going too fast. The mistake sent him over the bars and set him back to fifth position. Mitchell did drop to sixth on lap six, but was able to regain the top fifth spot on lap eight, which he held to the checkers for a top five finish.
“The track was great. WORCS had a good layout and there were a lot of rocks. I was sore after my get off, but managed to pull off a top five,” said Mitchell.
Mitchell currently holds second in the Pro Am ATV championship chase. Only two points separate him from the leader heading into the final round of the season at Buffalo Bill’s Casino, and Mitchell is up to the challenge.
“It is going to come down to the final round, so I am going to have my work cut out for me training and preparing for the final race of the season because I really want that championship for all my sponsors,” said Mitchell.
The final round of the WORCS series is just a few weeks away on October 13th in Primm, Nevada, which should prove to be an exciting round of racing with Mitchell going for the WORCS Pro Am Championship.
