Bakersfield, CA (10/17/2014) - Maxxis / H&M Motorsports’ David Haagsma lead from start to finish to sweep both motos for the overall win at the Caleb Moore Memorial ATV Pro Challenge at Underground MX in Kemp, TX.

Once again the race was held in conjunction with the final round of the TQRA series. Heavy rain moved in the night before and soaked the track, but the sandy Texas soil dried out nicely and made for good racing conditions. The dry, sandy conditions are something that California native, David Haagsma, is used to and it showed as he shot off the start to grab the moto one holeshot.

Haagsma was not alone and soon came under pressure from Thomas Brown. Haagsma was riding in top form and held off several passing attempts by Brown and held the lead all the way to the checkered flag for the moto one win.

“My Maxxis tires hooked up great, we ran a little less air pressure because of the wet conditions in the first moto, and it worked great. I got a good jump, and I got the holeshot. Brown was right there with me the whole time and he almost had me a couple times, but I was able to hold him off,” said Haagsma.

For moto two, the track dried out even more. The conditions were still favorable for David Haagsma and helped him to grab his second holeshot of the day. Thomas Brown was again on the attack, but a couple of mistakes slowed his progress and allowed Haagsma to pull a nice lead. Haagsma was able to keep that gap and held his position, taking the moto two win and the overall win.

“I had a great holeshot again and Thomas was right there, but he made a couple of mistakes and I was able to pull away a little. I have been training with Kory Ellis, and it been great to have him there pushing me and helping me get faster. Thomas is a great rider and to be able to take the win makes me feel pretty good,” said Haagsma.

After an impressive win at the Pro Challenge, David Haagsma will head back to the west coast for the final round of the 2014 WORCS series in Primm, NV on October 18-19th, where he will be going for another win to finish out the year of racing.
