Bakersfield, CA (8/4/2014) - H&M Motorsports’ Beau Baron continued his domination of the ATV Pro and SxS Pro classes this weekend at round seven of the 2014 WORCS series, while David Haagsma joined him on the Pro ATV podium inĀ  second place.

Round seven of the WORCS Racing Series headed to Washington State to Straddleline ORV Park, which is the only track on the circuit that features woods racing, which is exactly what Beau Baron likes.

“I love the tight technical trails and racing through the trees, it’s really a nice change of pace and I knew I would do well here,” said Baron.

And do well, he did. Baron came off the start in the number three spot in the Pro ATV race and soon took over second. Baron chased down the leader and battled for a couple of laps before he was able to get his way and take over the lead. Once out front, Baron began to increase the gap between him and the rest of the pack, taking the Pro win by over two minutes.

“It was a great race for me. The track was awesome. It was nice being up in the trees. It was a nice change of pace and I really enjoy this technical type of riding. Doug Roll really helped us by getting us a narrower set up for this race and my Maxxis tires really hooked up out there, it was an awesome race and I am really stoked to take the win,” said Baron.

David Haagsma also had a very good race in the Pro ATV class. Haagsma was in second off the line and held it for a lap before falling back to third. Haagsma stayed on the gas and after a couple of laps was able to take advantage of another rider’s mistake and move into second. From there, Haagsma was able to cruise to a second place finish.

“I saw Robbie Mitchell had made a couple of mistakes so I just stayed close and when he flipped his quad, I was able to get by him. It was a tough track and something I’m not really used to, but it was fun and my Flexbars and Tire Blocks were amazing for this track, they really helped a lot. It was a really good weekend for us,” said Haagsma.

In the SxS Pro class, Beau Baron again showed everyone that he is the champ for a reason. Baron grabbed the holeshot and was holding a strong lead but in the final two laps, lap traffic became an issue and allowed a competitor to close in. Baron was not about to give up the lead and battled hard for his fourth win of the season.

”I hit lappers and Ryan caught up to me and that’s when it got interesting. I was terrified that he was going to take one of those option lanes and just come in and t-bone me because they are set up so that they put you right into the guy who is going straight. The Walker Evans suspension worked great out here though and my Sparks motor had so much power and helped me get that holeshot. It was a really good race,” said Baron.

In the SxS 1000 class, David Haagsma was looking strong at the start of the race, but a mechanical issue caused him to fall off the pace and settle for a fourth place finish. “I was doing well, but the issue I was having, I just couldn’t be competitive, so I just did the best I could and saved points,” said Haagsma.
