                              - Round number six of the AMA ATV Motocross
Championship series marked a turning point in Joel
Hetrick’s racing career as he has made he
jump from the Production A class to the Pro-am Unlimited
class with astounding success. Hetrick made his
presence know by going 1-1 and taking the top spot
on the podium at Steel City.

Hetrick is continuing his winning ways on
his Kawasaki KFX450 | Joel Hetrick has been a top contender in whatever
class he has raced over the years, including eight
wins in the School Boy Senior class in 2008, which
secured him the championship two races before
the season’s end. This past weekend Joel
Hetrick proved he had what it takes to run with
some of the fastest racers in the amateur classes
and is ready to take the next step in his ATV
racing career. Hetrick claimed the holeshot in both motos of
the Pro-am Unlimited class, and despite some incredibly
close competition from the likes of Cody Gibson
and Cody Grant, Hetrick held his lead to take
the win. “Those guys are really fast and
they are there to win. It was a little more intense
than in the A class so I am really excited to
take the win like that,” said Hetrick excitedly. Although Hetrick made his Pro-am Unlimited class
debut at round three at Birch Creek in Danville,
VA, he decided to make the switch permanently
after round five of the amateur classes at Sunset
Ridge when he took the lead in moto two of the
Production A class and checked out. “I had
a pretty good lead over the rest of my class so
I just felt that it was time to move up and now
I am very happy that I did,” said the number
                                88 Kawasaki rider.
Hetrick was quick to point out that some of his
recent success could be attributed to his friend
and fellow racer, Cody Gibson. “Cody and
I are good friends and he has helped me out a
lot and helped me to get faster,” said Hetrick,
who has been burning some amazingly fast lap times
including the fastest lap time of the Pro-am Unlimited
                                class at 01:33.906.

Joel Hetrick has big plans for the immediate future
and is looking to possibly move up in classes
once again before the season is over. “I’m
not 100% sure yet, but I may be moving up to the
Pro-am Production class at the Unadilla round,”
Hetrick stated. As one of the most dedicated riders on the track,
no matter which class Hetrick chooses to compete
in for the remainder of the season, Hetrick will
be giving it his all and it will be exciting to
see how the rest of the season unfolds for him. Joel Hetrick would like
to thank all of his sponsors who helped make the
2009 season and his Pro-Am debut a successful
