Marion, OH (4/16/2009) -The
Hangman XC OMA National was held on April
11 in Nashville, TN. New comer to the OMA
race series and winner of Round 1 was Houser
Racing's Shawn Hess #22. Race day was muddy,
but Hess kept his head in the game, rode smart,
and took his Houser Racing equipped Honda
to the podium. "The track was pretty
technical compared to the GNCC races. You
know me, I am much more comfortable in the
technical stuff, which is where it paid off
for me in TN. "Hess decided to cut back
on racing expenses this year. Living in Texas,
Hess has to travel long distances to make
it to all the GNCC race events. "I decided
that maybe it would be best to stay a little
closer to home this year. The competition
in the OMA series is pretty good. Plus, I
like to mix things up from time to time. "Keep
your eye on Shawn Hess in the OMA series.
He is sure to give you a great show.
Another Houser Racing Pro showed up in Tennessee
for the OMA round 1. Taylor Kiser #6 had a
pretty decent day on his Houser Racing equipped
Yamaha, finishing on the Podium in 3rd place.
Kiser has been training and racing as often
as he can with one goal in mind, to be #1
at the 2009 GNCCs. Going to races other than
the GNCCs are a good way to get in some practice
time riding with other riders. "I like
going to races other then the GNCCs. Its like
there just isn't as much pressure and you
can go out there and just have fun. I ran
into a lot of lappers. That can really slow
you up and cause problems." Kiser has
had a pretty good race season so far. You
can catch him at all of the 2009 GNCCs as
well as a few other races along the way.
