Duck Lloyd wrapped up the Junior 25+ Class Championship, despite racing with a broken ankle & torn tendon!

Buchanan, MI (8/1/2013) - The JB Racing Team took many top finishes at Red Bud. The ninth round of the AMA Mtn. Dew ATV Motocross National Championship was held in Buchanan, Michigan. Duck Lloyd secured his Junior 25+ Championship while his teammates raced to many top finishes.

Duck Lloyd wasn’t sure if he would even be able to race at the round; a broken ankle caused him to sit out the previous round and with a cast still attached to his leg, his fate was undecided. Lloyd decided it was worth the risk and lined up in the Junior 25+ class, knowing he had to finish the race in order to secure his championship. Lloyd finished the round with a scorecard of 16-14, but that was all he needed to take the number one plate in the class.

“Today went better than yesterday, I felt better on the Can-Am and learned how to land jumps with a broken ankle. I am really happy to have locked up the championship,” said Lloyd. Lloyd normally races a JB Suzuki LTR 450; however, he opted to race his teammate’s Can-Am because of the electric start.

Jeffrey Rastrelli - Can-Am DS450 ATV
Jeffrey Rastrelli place eighth in the Pro Class & second in the Pro-Am Class

Jeff Rastrelli raced to an eighth place finish in the AMA Pro class before taking second in ProAm class on Sunday.  Rastrelli usually only races Pro, however, since his teammate, Lloyd, was sidelined, Rastrelli signed up for the JB Racing team.  The decision turned out positive as he went 1-3 to earn the second podium spot.

“Everything went OK in the Pro class. I had a great battle and my Can-Am felt good. Pro Am was a good time. The heat went great, I got the win. I had to work a lot harder in the second moto and battle from tenth to third. It feels great to be on the podium though! It was worth it,” regarded Rastrelli.

“My JB Honda worked great today. It was cornering well and my ITP’s hooked up. I had a fun battle and am looking forward to Loretta’s,” said Sarver.

Brogan Guyer raced his JB machine to two second place finishes at Red Bud. Guyer went 2-2 in both the 90 CVT and the 90 Auto Senior, and he recorded the fastest lap-times in three of the four motos.

Grayson Eller battled to a fourth place finish in the Super-Mini class. Eller went 4-5 at Red Bud. Eller had a hard battle in moto one; he was in sixth on lap one before charging to fourth on lap two. He fell to fifth on lap three, but rallied and took over fourth on the final lap.
