JB Racing / Mtn Dew / Can-Am ’s Joel Hetrick 2nd at Briarcliff MX
Joel Hetrick Tied for Second in ATV Motocross Pro Class

Seneca, PA (6/18/2014) - JB Racing / DWT / Mtn. Dew Live Wire Can-Am's Joel Hetrick made his return to the podium at the Ford Tough ATV Motocross National at Briarcliff MX where he finished second overall, which has him tied for the second spot in the series points as well.

This was the first time for Briarcliff MX in Nashport, OH to host the series. The track was high speed with good jumps and plenty of opportunities to pass. In the first pro moto, Joel Hetrick took full advantage of every passing opportunity.

Off the start in moto one, Hetrick and Chad Wienen collided, which sent Hetrick to the back of the pack. “On the start Chad (Wienen) and I were side by side. He had nowhere to go and I wouldn’t let off, and the result was me falling off. That put me in about 15th,” said Hetrick.

Despite dropping back to 15th in Moto 1, Joel Hetrick charged ahead to finish fourth

The # 88 Can-Am was able to mount an incredible charge and work through the pack to finish in fourth place. “I caught John Natalie finally and we battled for a few laps and I had to do a bit of an aggressive pass, but he was ok with it. He stayed right with me but I was able to hold him off and take fourth,” Hetrick explained.

Moto two went much better for Hetrick as he came off the start and was running in fourth place. Hetrick worked his way into third and battled with Thomas Brown for most of the moto. He did fall back to fifth at the midway point, but Hetrick did not give up charging back up to third place after just a couple of laps and took the checkered flag in third place. Hetrick’s 4-3 finishes gave him second overall on the pro podium.

“The second moto went a little better for me. I battled with Thomas (Brown) and he got me about halfway through, but I got him back. Can-am was working awesome out there. I had a ton of power, which was what I needed for this high horsepower track.  It definitely got me up on the box this weekend. My Elka suspension soaked up everything out there and I had no issues what-so-ever and JB Racing has been great. They put so much time and effort into this I just have to give them and everyone who is supporting me this season a big thank you,” said Hetrick, who is currently tied for second in championship points with a total of 195 points.

Round six of the 2014 ATV Motocross Championships will head to Millville, MN for the Mountain Dew Spring Creek ATV National on June 28th where Joel Hetrick will be going for the win.
