Hurricane Mills, TN (8/19/2014) - JB Racing’s Jeffrey Rastrelli went 1-1 in the Pro-Am class in the final round of the 2014 Mt. Dew AMA ATV Motocross Championships and brought home the Pro-Am championship at Loretta Lynn’s in Hurricane Mills, TN.

It was a challenging weekend for the final round of the series with high temps, humidity and heavy rain showers that fell throughout the weekend, causing muddy and slick conditions at times. Luckily the rain held off for both Pro-am motos and that allowed Jeffrey Rastrelli to run two flawless motos.

For moto one, Rastrelli grabbed the holeshot and checked out. Rastrelli pulled a nice lead and took the win by over three seconds. Moto two was much the same for Rastrelli as he grabbed the holeshot and pulled a five second lead at the checkered flag. Rastrelli’s wins not only earned him the top spot on the podium, but also the 2014 Pro-am championship.

“Pro-am went great. After giving up 30 points because I didn’t race the Pro-Am class at Georgia, I got the points lead away from Ronnie (Higgerson) at Red Bud, and I was hoping to keep it and get that championship. Unfortunately for Ronnie, he wasn’t 100% yet, so I was able to go out there and get both moto wins and the championship. I really have to thank JB Racing and the entire crew for everything they have done for me this season, I really couldn’t have done it without them,” said Rastrelli.

In the Pro class, Jeffrey Rastrelli was hoping for another podium finish to highlight the end of the season, but Mother Nature had other plans. In the first moto, Rastrelli did well and finished with a respectable sixth place. Rastrelli was hoping for another good finish in moto two, but rain began to fall just as the Pro class was lining up and created a muddy mess on the track. Rastrelli had a great start in second place and looked as if he would do well, but the mud soon took its toll and in the third lap, Rastrelli was forced to pull off with mechanical issues.

“I was really hoping to come to Loretta’s and get on the (Pro) podium again, but that didn’t happen. In the second moto, it rained right as we were lining up.  I was up front in the top three, but the mud got the best of me and my machine,” said Rastrelli, who ended his season in seventh place in series points.

William “Duck” Lloyd was looking solid in the Pro-Am class for the final round. Lloyd was inside the top five off the start and held down the number four position all the way to the checkered flag. For the second moto, Lloyd had a great start and was holding down the number three spot. Lloyd held his position for most of the race but in the white flag lap, Lloyd made a mistake and fell back to sixth place. Lloyd’s 4-6 finishes put him in sixth overall for the day and ranked him sixth in Pro-am series points as well.

Lloyd has also been running the Open A class this season and finished his season by taking the final moto win. Although moto one did not go how he had planned, moto two was a different story as Lloyd led from start to finish and claimed the win, giving him fifth overall. Lloyd’s strong performance in the Open A class this year also earned him second place in series points.

Guyer also made her racing debut in the Women’s class, and she finished an impressive fourth place in the first moto, and a broken shifter held her back to ninth in moto two for eighth overall in her Women’s class debut.  “This was a very exciting and nervous weekend of racing for me making my debut in the Women’s class. I am proud of how well I competed against the women in the 450 class, and I can’t wait to race with them all next season, “said Maddison Guyer.

Brogan Guyer also ended out the year on the high note after missing most of the season due to being injured, but he came on strong at Loretta Lynn’s and claimed top five overall finishes in both the 90 Open Sr (12-15) and 90 Shifter (12-15) classes, and he matched his season best finish in the Super Mini (12-15) class with a sixth place finish.

“For my second round back, I had a pretty good weekend, and I am really looking forward to the 2015 racing season,” said Brogan Guyer.

The #171 of Grayson Eller had his best weekend of racing for the season finishing out the weekend with top five finishes in all three Schoolboy classes, and he did it on his brand new JB Racing quad with a 450 size frame. It is a perfect match for Eller as he went on to finish second overall in the Schoolboy Jr (13-15) class to secure a top three finish in the championship points.

“I can’t thank the JB Racing team and David Eller enough for all the work that they do because without them and all our sponsors this wouldn’t have been possible,” said Sarver.

Tyler Peters had one of his best finishes of the year in the Schoolboy Sr (14-17) class finishing in fourth place overall, and he rounded out the top five in the points championship.

“I had a great weekend at Loretta Lynn’s finishing fourth overall in Schoolboy Sr. My JB Honda ran great, and my ITP tires hooked up great in the mud, which helped me finish out the year strong.  I am looking forward to moving up to the 450 classes for 2015, and I would like to thank Jody and the whole JB racing team for such a great year,” said Peters.

Logan Peters went 7-5 on the weekend and finished fifth overall in the 50 single speed class, and finished fourth for the year.

2014 proved to be a successful season for the JB Racing team with several top five points finishes along with Jeffrey Rastrelli’s Pro-Am Championship.  They are looking forward to getting together at the annual ATVAMX banquet and can’t wait to be back in action for the start of the 2015 season next year.
