East Springfield, PA (9/25/2014) - American Woods Racing Championship is a premier East Coast XC racing series.  Saturday September 13, was the last in a six round series for the open UTV class.

Larry Hendershot Sr., Larry Jr., and JB Racing owner Jody Bateman earned the American Woods Racing UTV Championship driving their JB Off-Road / Hendershot Performance-backed Can-Am Maverick 1000R X rs

Saturday was a dry blue bird day perfect for racing and any dust would be swiftly carried away by the cool September breeze.  Larry Hendershot Jr. held a 13 pt. lead going into this round so a top 10 finish is all that was needed to safely secure the championship.

As the green flag dropped Jr. pulled the holeshot with his 2014 Can-Am Maverick XRS with Yoshimura tuned engine and ITP Terracross tires.  Jr. ran strong all race, but due to the rocky terrain forcing a mechanical issue, he would have to settle for the top ten finish he needed to win the championship.
