-Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Josh Creamer and
Chad Wienen added one more podium finish to their
yearly stats as the duo made another trip to the
winner’s circle at Red Bud in Buchanan, Mich.
Creamer rode all out to finish the day with a 2-3,
while Wienen maneuvered through the pack to finish
with a 4-5. After clinching the Pro Am Production
class title last round, Kawasaki Pro Am rider Cody
Gibson wrapped up his second championship of the
season in the Pro Am Unlimited class with a 1-1
finish on Saturday.

Consistent and Smart Motos
Creamer started the day off right by moving out
with the holeshot in the first moto. He ran out
front for a good portion of the race before finishing
in second. With a solid finish in Moto 1, Creamer
played it smart in the second moto, finishing third
and second overall.
“This was probably the best I’ve
felt in a long time,” said Creamer. “I
was really confident in both motos and tried to
not make many mistakes. I am happy with second
and hope that I can be back on the podium at the
final round.”

Chad Wienen
now sits 2nd in the points lead going
into the last round.

Learning to Work Through It
Wienen has been plagued with bad starts over the
past few races, but his never-quit attitude has
helped him finish with great results. In both motos
he came from behind but finished inside the top
five for a 4-5 and third overall.
“The results weren’t what I wanted,
but considering my starts, I faired pretty well,”
said Wienen. “I’m still looking for
the championship. At this point I need to do all
I can to win, while luck would have to take care
of the rest. Overall, I am still happy that I
even have a shot at the championship after the
rough start to the season I went through.”

Holeshot and Beyond
Creamer has always been a threat to being out of
the gate first and he showed the riders how it was
done in the first moto.
“It felt like I got the holeshot by a mile,”
said Creamer. “It’s always a good
feeling to be out front early and avoid any possible
pile up. My Kawasaki KFX®450R is great off
the line, it’s just my job to get it to
the front.”

Wrapping Up Another One
Kawasaki’s Gibson sealed up another championship
in the Pro Am class prior to the final round. With
the Pro Am Production already finalized last round,
Gibson earned his second championship in the Pro
Am Unlimited class.
“He’s a great kid with amazing natural
talent for racing,” said ATV Team Manager
Jimmy White. “It will be great to see how
he does when he moves up to the pro class.”
At the finale of the AMA ATV Motocross Championship
Series, Gibson will be racing his KFX450R in the
Pro class. With the two Pro Am championships already
wrapped up, he is able to focus on premier class
in the series.
“I think it will be good to see how he
does,” said Creamer. “The field is
so stacked, it will be good for him to race against
the best.”

The series takes a two--week break before traveling
to the final round of the series at Loretta Lynn’s
Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tenn. The final stop
is always a high intensity race and the 2009 season
won’t be any different with Wienen standing
in second in the championship chase.
“It will be hard to come out with the championship
now, but I have done really well the last two
years at Loretta Lynn’s so I will give it
everything I have to finish on top of the podium,”
said Wienen. “I don’t ever give up.”
