- Kawasaki ATV rider Joe Haavisto took three out
of four motos in the Open Pro and Pro Am classes
at the series halfway mark at historic MX338 in
Southwick, Mass. Haavisto had some stiff competition
with a few national riders coming to the sixth round
on their off weekend, but he stepped up to the challenge
and earned the win in the Pro Am class and second
overall in the Pro class.
Another Moto Win
With rain hitting the track on Saturday night,
the riders were in for a tough ride during Sunday’s
race. In the Open Pro class, Haavisto got out
of the gate sixth and eventually made his way
up to third on the single-lined track. The tough
passing had him settling for third, but in the
second moto he battled for the lead to go 3-1
for second overall in the class.
Sweeping Pro Am
The Pro Am moto was a clean sweep for Haavisto.
He got out front early and captured both moto
wins on his KFX®450R.
“I was able to get good starts in the Pro
Am motos,” said Haavisto. “I made
it to the front quickly and stayed out front with
a strong comfortable lead.”

Points Leader
With the season reaching its halfway point in
Southwick, Haavisto goes into the second half
of the season with substantial leads in both the
Open Pro and Pro Am classes. The next race is
at Capeway Rovers Motocross in Middleboro, Mass.
