Adam McGill and Tyler Kiser Celebrate their 1-2 Finish on the GNCC Podium

Washington, GA (3/10/2008) - KTM’s Adam McGill dominated round two of the Grand National Cross Country series this past Saturday from start to finish. McGill grabbed the holeshot and never looked back. McGill stretched his lead from thirty seconds after the first lap to one minute after the second lap. McGill got faster as the race progressed. By lap four, McGill had earned a five minute lead which he stretched to a massive six minutes by the checkered flag. This was the largest gap in GNCC history. The win was extra special as this was McGill and KTM’s first Pro GNCC win. “It feels great”, said McGill on the podium. McGill added, “I have wanted to race from KTM since the first time I saw the quad”. The combination was been successful only two races into their relationship.

Meanwhile, McGill’s FRE/KTM’s teammate, Taylor Kiser, also put forth an impressive ride. Kiser fought forward from an eleventh place start. By the end of the first lap, Kiser had moved all the way up to the fourth place position behind McGill (KTM), Chris Bithell (Can-Am), and Brandon Sommers (Yamaha). Kiser moved up to third on the third lap of the race. Kiser and Sommers stayed within seconds of each other until the last lap when Kiser made a move on Sommers and then pulled away. Kiser finished off the perfect day as he earned the FRE/KTM team an impressive 1-2 finish. “I feel good now. The sky’s the limit for this team”, said Kiser on the podium.

The winner of Round 1, Chris Borich (Suzuki), and the reigning Champion GNCC Champion, Bill Balance (Yamaha) both had mechanical problems and were unable to finish the race. The DNFs earned them 24th and 26th finishes. McGill has now taken over the series point lead with Kiser and Cook, each with a second and a fourth, tied for second.

“These two guys are talented and I am really proud of their rides today. It doesn’t get any better than this”, said FRE/KTM’s Team Manager Tim Farr following the race.

Next race: March 29 – Steele Creek GNCC (Morganton, NC)
