Aussie Pro ATV racer,
Luke Beechey, heads to the USA to compete at Unadilla and
Loretta Lynn’s
Australia(July
28, 2005) - With several pro class championships
under his belt on home soil, Australian Yamaha ATV racer,
Luke Beechey, 23, is now getting set to head across the pacific
and join his American peers when he attends rounds eleven
and twelve of the USA Grand National ATV MX Championships.
Whilst switching from motorcycles to four wheelers
only just over twelve months ago Beechey has racked up some
impressive results. Three different State Championships in
his first year and for 2005 he leads the Victorian Championships
by a healthy margin. He travels to the famed Unadilla circuit
in New York on July 30th-31st followed by a visit to the also
famous, Loretta Lynn’s ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee
on August 13th-14th.
Whilst competing he will of course be aboard
a trusty Yamaha YFZ450 that will be supplied courtesy of Yamaha
USA. He will also have support from Kenda tyres, Elka suspension
and Houser Racing products so he’ll be in familiar territory
as far as machine set-up goes.
“I can’t wait to get over there
now, said Beechey. It will be awesome to see over 800 quads
at a race meet, the meets are so big over there, practise
is held on Fridays so we’ll be sure to be there for
that. To see the factories involvement in ATV racing at the
highest level will be a real eye opener”, he added.
Luke’s father, Yamaha’s ATV race
team manager and Quad Riders Club Victorian ATV race coordinator,
Mark Beechey, will join his son at Loretta’s for the
last round of the series. “I went over in 2002 to Loretta’s
and met some great people, it will be a real thrill to catch
up again and this time assist Luke with his racing. We will
have some great support over there as all of our sponsors
here will be helping us out in some way or another. The scene
there is so big that I’m sure we’ll all learn
a lot and this will only help us to keep our sport growing
back home. We have some exciting plans for Australian ATV
racing next year,” he said.
Again we’d like to thank all our supporters,
Yamaha have been fantastic to arrange a YFZ for us over there,
it will be great to only have to take over a small amount
of parts so Luke should feel right at home at the controls
of his YFZ, added Beechey senior
