MPI Rhino 660 Supercharger Kit

Draper, UT (5/30/2007) - Mountain Performance (MPI) a powersports performance company specializing in supercharger and electronic tuning has developed a bolt-on supercharger system for the Yamaha Rhino 660. Using a belt driven Rotrex compressor mounted underneath the passenger seat, MPI is able to increase rear wheel horsepower by over 100% (about 30hp more to the tires). Compressed air from the supercharger is cooled in a large aluminum intercooler before being fed through aluminum piping to the stock carburetor. Installation takes about 6hours and does not require any cutting or drilling of stock components, and the stock body panels conceal the components leaving the Rhino appearing stock.

Unlike a turbo where there is a lag in the boost, the supercharger produces instant boost because it driven directly by the engine. The 660 engine responds very well in stock form to the boost from the supercharger and with the stage 1 kit no internal engine modifications are needed and it still runs on pump gas. MPI strongly recommends using their specially mapped CDI box and jet kit for best results and if the machine is going to be used primarily at low speeds they also recommend their cooling system upgrade.

The Rhino is one of the most fun machines available and the MPI supercharger allows the driver to maximize the excellent handling and suspension by providing the power to match the chassis.
