NASMOTO
Mid Atlantic GP Qualifier Runs on Saturday
& the Championship on Sunday
Santa Monica, CA (9/25/2007) -
The first half of the 2007 dual NASMOTO AMA SuperMoto
Grand Championships kicks off in the East on September
29-30 at the NASMOTO Mid Atlantic GP race at BeaveRun
Raceway.
The weekend doubleheader is action-packed with
practice on Friday, the NASMOTO Qualifier on Saturday
and the SuperMoto Grand Championship on Sunday
morning.
"We are piloting this new dual NASMOTO Championship
program for 2007 and it is designed to significantly
reduce travel-related costs and increase SuperMoto
participation across the country," said Ted
Baker, NASMOTO V.P.
Winners in all seven classes will receive an
AMA #1 plate. The NASMOTO Championship classes
include SM1 Open, SM2 250, Open Amateur, Vet 35,
Novice, Premier Mini Moto and the Sportsman Class.
The SMX Open Invitational class is the premier
race of the event and provides top pro riders
cash purse awards. Pro and amateur ATV classes
are included with the Pro ATV class also paying
out a cash purse award.
SuperMoto racers will be dicing it up on the
BeaveRun Raceway's Wilson Circuit , which boasts
8/10 mile road race circuit that provides multiple
passing lines with 26 feet wide corners. The track
includes two separate pit areas and provides plenty
of access to ensure that fans have uninhibited
viewing of the asphalt and dirt sections.
The dirt section is the longest in the NASMOTO
series and is 25% of the track. It includes a
whoops section and bowl turn and is the fastest
dirt section in the series.
"BeaveRun Raceway has consistently brought
out the best in the Eastern Supermoto Racing Association
(ESMRA) racers," said Tony Murray, ESMRA
CEO. "Fans should keep an eye out for the
Canadian contingency of Emerson Conner and Adam
Jabouri as these guys are fast, accomplished and
the future of the sport."
The industry has stepped up with contingency
support for the dual NASMOTO AMA East and West
SuperMoto Championships with KTM, Kawasaki, Yamaha,
Metzeler and Michelin participating.
To receive the contingency support, racers must
register online at xbux.com.
