Polaris Outlaw Shows its Out-of-the-Box Brawn

Minneapolis, MN (7/6/06) - With the Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) and World Off Road Championship Series (WORCS) taking their mid-season breaks, the Polaris Outlaw has shown its out-of-the-box brawn by blazing the trails in both series.

GNCC
#209 John Gallagher
4-Stroke Stock A” Racer Todd Rothermel and “Super Senior (50+)” Racer John Gallagher have been smokin’ on the GNCC courses with their Outlaws. At the break, Rothermel sits atop the GNCC stock class, with six first place finishes and two seconds. Super Senior, Gallagher, also is at the top of his class with eight first place finishes and one second.

Women’s Pro Parton has hit the podium seven out of nine races, with six second place finishes and one third place. Pro Rider Matt Smiley began the season on the Outlaw but after struggling with setup issues in the first two races, he opted to finish the season on the Predator that he rode to fifth place overall in 2005.

WORCS Stock
Stock A Racer, Jeff Bertuzzi is lighting it up on the WORCS courses, dominating the Stock A class by hitting the podium in every WORCS race with four first and two second places. Bertuzzi’s aggressive riding style paired with the Outlaw’s ability to handle the roughest trails has resulted in impressive victories and has him leading the Stock A point standings at the break.

#5 Matt Smiley
“Polaris’ goal for the Outlaw was to deliver a machine that could handle aggressive trails and be one of the best right out of the box,” said Jeff LeFever, marketing manager for the ATV Division at Polaris. “The machine’s performance so far shows it is well on its way.”

SCORE International
It has proven it’s a worthy contender on the trails but Polaris also believes it can shine in the desert. Polaris will be offering a contingency program for is the SCORE International Baja 1000, November 15-18. Any Outlaw or Predator rider is eligible for the contingency of $25,000 for first place, $5,000 for second place or $2,500 for third place.
