Regardless if a customer chooses a Standard, Mossy Oak™ or Deluxe model, they will get the following features found on Polaris Sportsman ATVs:

• Various engine sizes to cater to the different needs of the Sportsman rider.

  • Liquid-cooled, carbureted, single-cylinder, Polaris 450
  • Liquid-cooled, single cylinder, Polaris 500 engine with Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI)
  • Liquid-cooled, twin cylinder, Polaris Liberty 700 engine with Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI)
  • Liquid-cooled, twin cylinder, Polaris Liberty 800 engine with Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI)
  • The EFI system compensates automatically for changes in altitude and temperature, ensuring the Sportsman starts readily and delivers maximum performance in all environments, from –25 degrees F to 120 degrees F and at altitudes up to 10,000 feet.

•Polaris Variable Transmission (PVT), the industry’s all-time best-selling automatic transmission. The PVT continually senses engine speed and vehicle torque load and provides the proper amount of power to the drive wheels.

• The Polaris Exclusive On Demand All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system automatically engages when the rider needs more forward traction. It reverts to 2WD automatically when AWD is no longer needed.

• Independent Rear Suspension (IRS) with an anti-roll bar delivers the legendary Sportsman smooth ride, up to 9.5 inches of travel and up to 11.25 inches of ground clearance. The “rolled IRS,” found on the X2 models, reduces vehicle squat under acceleration.

• MacPherson strut front suspension with 8.2” of travel.

• Tough bodywork with splash protection and easy access to several maintenance and adjustment points. The front bumper is a tough composite material while the floorboards are practically unbreakable and offer great splash protection.

• In front is an integrated, composite storage box. The storage box lid has numerous tie-down points and can be lifted even when gear is strapped to it.

• In back, a tough composite rear rack accepts Pure Polaris Lock & Ride™ accessory mounts. These mounts use anchor technology that allow a rider to attach accessories in seconds. The rack has numerous tie-down points and under the rear rack is an easy-access 10x10 inch storage box and a 1.25 inch standard receiver hitch.

• Polaris’ single-lever, all-wheel, hydraulic disc brakes with stainless steel braided lines and an auxiliary hydraulic rear foot brake.

• The drum-shift provides a simple inline shift pattern that makes plowing easier and allows riders to shift easily among High, Low, Neutral and Reverse. The transmission also has a Park position.

• VDO instrumentation keeps riders aware of the vehicle’s operating status. There is an electronic fuel gauge with a low-fuel flasher and data concerning speed, engine RPM, maintenance indicators and a gear position indicator.
