St-Romuald, QC (5/10/2007) - This
past weekend Canadian Richard Pelchat was injured
while practicing. Fortunately, there is no broken
bone and no serious injury. The impact hurt the inside
of Richard’s abdomen and a bit of blood was
found around the intestine area. He had to stay at
the Hospital for two days. Always a fighter, Richard
was quick to ask about racing this upcoming weekend.
The doctor’s answer was clear “Out of
question…very dangerous”.
He will have to miss the upcoming WPSA (round 2)
and the 12 Hours endurance race of La Tuque (May 20th).
Richard comments about the crash “It was a
small jump and a weird crash. The ATV hit me back
pretty hard”…
“I hit my head but got no concussion, I’m
glad I was wearing a Bell Helmets”
It is the first time in his racing career that Richard
has to miss important races. “It is never good
to get injured, but I plan on making the best of this
situation and comeback strong”.
For the 12 hours endurance race of La Tuque, Richard
plan on finding a good replacement rider and have
the team compete in the event. “It is a team
race and anything can happen”.
