(3/3/06) - The SEQRA
has released their 2006 race schedule. The series
is made up of 20 races being held at 12 different
tracks throughout the Southeast. Riders of all skill
levels are welcome. Fifteen classes are offered, including
a Women’s class as well as 5 youth classes and
a stock class. The series races begin on February
11th and go through November 18th, taking a break
in July to rest (and order parts). There is not a
minimum number of races required for overall awards
and riders are allowed to drop their three lowest
finishes.
Rider safety and the family atmosphere is what makes
quad racing different from the other forms of motorsports
and this series is no different. A tech inspection
is held at each race and every quad must be approved
by the race official. Nerf bars (with nets) and a
working kill switch are required on all quads. Riders
are also required to wear over the ankle boots, long
pants, a long sleeve shirt, and helmet.
This is the second year for this series and it has
been accepted very well by the regional riders and
tracks. This can be attributed to the courtesy of
the riders involved and the hard work of the SEQRA
staff. The staff expects this year to be the breakout
year for the series.
