Team Skat-trak wins the Best in the desert Las Vegas 300

Las Vegas, NV (10/10/2007) - Team Skat-Trak with Greg Stuart and Niclas Granlund took a convincing win in the pro quad class at the Best in the Desert Las Vegas 300. Greg was the first quad off the line to start the first of four 67 mile laps. After the 1st lap, Greg had pulled a 2 minute lead. Early morning sun and dust was a factor early on. Nic's flawless 2nd lap extended the lead to 7 minutes. On lap 3, Greg got a flat front tire at mile 24 but managed to increase the lead to 8 minutes.

Nic climbed aboard the Honda XR 650 R ATV for the final lap. As he continued to pull away, Nic noticed the clutch was starting to slip. After some on course adjustments to the bike and a modified riding style, Nic was able to bring the bike to the finish line with a 10 minute lead over 2nd place.

At Sundays award ceremony it was confirmed that Team Skat Trak had finished the race 1st in class and 3rd place overall only to be beaten by two pro motorcycles. This marks the second win for Greg Stuart and Nic Granlund in the 2007 Race Season. The other two Best In The Desert rounds unfortunately resulted in mechanical dnf's while battle ling for the lead.
