The Sonic Spider IRS Kit
Get Your Power to the Ground
Easton, PA (7/5/2006) - The
Sonic Spider IRS Kit presents the first ever patent
pending Independent rear suspension kit for racing
ATV’s.
Going fast isn’t entirely horse power when it comes
to ATV racing. If you can’t get the power to the
ground, an extra 5 horse power will only result in extra
wheel spin. As a matter of fact, the limit to acceleration
in all types of racing is tire traction. It’s the
mere reason why the serious racers use new tires every
race instead of warn tires, or the same reason Formula
1 uses independent suspension instead of non-independent
suspension. TRACTION MAKES YOU FASTER. If a new set of
tires is something anyone can buy then what’s the
next step? INDEPENDANT SUSPENSION!
Fortunately, the knowledgeable engineers and skilled
technicians at Sonic Offroad Inc. have come up with
an easy solution to your traction problems. Sonic Offroad
Inc. has come out with the exclusive patent pending
IRS solution for your preexisting racing ATV. First
tested on the Canondale Moto and further tested on the
Honda 450, Yamaha YFZ 450, and the Suzuki Quad Racer
R450, the Sonic Spider IRS Kit is available as an easy
upgrade to almost any ATV.
Andrew Ciasulli, the president of Sonic Offroad Inc.
says “The spider kit should take the market by
storm.” “Not only does it look fast, it
makes your ATV handle like a dream and only takes an
hour to assemble.” The kit comes pre-adjusted
to minimize down time and to make the conversion as
easy as possible. The Sonic Spider Kit attaches to the
same frame mounts as your exiting swing arm and your
rear shock.

Sonic Offroad Inc. has been developing off-road race
cars for years. Their true love and knowledge lies in
the development of off-road suspension that works. The
Sonic Spider IRS Kit raises the ground clearance to
an astounding 11 inches in the rear and gives the rider
12 inches of rear suspension travel. It is also designed
to take those frontward impacts by raking the a-arms
back a few degrees like most front ATV suspension. The
racers and designers at Sonic Offroad believe the GNCC
racers will benefit the most from this unit. The increased
ground clearance makes it possible to clear rocks and
other obstacles that would appose a hang-up threat to
conventional ATV’s. Cost savings will also be
seen by the rider because the chance of smashing the
rear rotor and sprocket greatly diminishes. This advantage
will also keep the racer racing instead of dealing with
that dreaded DNF or possible wreck due to a bent rotor
that bound the rear axle.
The Sonic Spider Kit has a 4130 chromoly sub-frame to
which the a-arms, shocks, center axle, caliper and rotor
mount to. The sub-frame is easily attached to the ATV
frame at the swing arm bolt and the stock upper shock
mount bolt. An adjustable tie bar links the sub frame
to the ATV at the upper shock mount bolt. This tie bar
link is adjustable for the rider to adjust the ride height
of the rear as well as the rear suspension pitch. The
kit comes with fox float shocks, but coil-over shocks
are available as a price adder.
IRS presents a great traction benefit to ATV’s,
but the greatest improvement is the handling in the
rough sections such as braking bumps. The weight of
the moving suspension links is less than half the weight
of the conventional swing arm suspension. The lighter
suspension links allows the ATV to respond to bumps
much faster. On a normal ATV the braking bumps compress
the suspension and the mass of the swing arm throws
the rear of the ATV almost bucking the rider over the
handlebars. On the Spider kit the rider is able to pickup
seconds in a section like this because the rider can
go much faster over the bumps without being tossed over
the bars. Another great benefit to the IRS is landing
off a jump. With conventional suspension landing on
one rear wheel can toss the rider over the far corner,
but with independent suspension landing on one rear
tire soaks up the impact and lessens rider fatigue.
