American Suzuki Named Official Motorcycle
and ATV of the American Bicycle Association
Suzuki ATVs will be used to support
the 2007 ABA BMX race series
Brea, CA (1/23/07)
-The American Bicycle Association (ABA) has named
American Suzuki Motor Corporation the official motorcycle
and ATV of the 2007 ABA BMX (bicycle motocross) Race
Series. The 2007 race schedule includes 27 National
events and 15 Pro series events throughout North America.
Suzuki motorcycles and ATVs are a major
sponsor of the 2007 ABA event schedule and will be
fully integrated into the BMX events nationwide. This
partnership includes motorcycles and ATVs being awarded
to professional racers and top amateurs and for use
by the ABA for track building and maintenance at these
events.
“We feel right at home with the
staff and the members of the ABA,” said Mel
Harris, Vice President of American Suzuki’s
motorcycle and ATV division. “This enthusiastic
family of athletes thrives on competition and the
need for top-performing products. It’s the same
passion that drives our motorcycle and ATV racers,
and it makes this partnership a natural for Suzuki.”
The sport of BMX is growing and building
a great deal of interest as it prepares for a worldwide
coming-out party of sorts with inclusion at the 2008
Summer Olympic Games. “Suzuki is an exciting
new sponsor for the ABA and our National Event Series
in 2007,” said Shannon Gillette, Marketing Director
for the ABA. “We are very proud that Suzuki
has chosen to promote its products with the ABA and
the sport of BMX.”
Suzuki will have a large presence at
every ABA BMX National event, and has scheduled display
advertising in ABA’s American BMXer publication
as part of its sponsorship. The ABA will use Suzuki
ATVs exclusively when constructing and grooming the
individual race facilities. Suzuki will award motorcycles
and ATVs to the 2007 National Champions and various
Pro racers ensuring that Suzuki has a dominant position
in the growing sport of BMX.
