Westwood, NJ (12/28/2007) - Privateer
racer, Jamie Bougher and his Suzuki 700 EFI
King Quad have had an incredibly busy 2007
race season. Jamie wrapped up his first pro
season in the WPSA Quad Terrain Challenge,
taking 15th overall in points for that series.
The Suzuki/Cernic’s racer also made
an impressive showing at the Atlantic GrandPrix
series in the 4x4 Open class by taking home
the championship, and as if that wasn’t
enough, Jamie also took 5th in the GNCC 4x4
Open class. Jamie has had a very productful
and successful season on his King Quad, but
it has not been easy.
Bougher, who basically rides and wrenches
out of the back of his truck, needed a reliable
machine to get him through the 2007 season
with minimal problems. It was actually on
the recommendation of WPSA QuadTerrain /
GNCC Pro ATV Racer, William Yokley that
Jamie decided to put the King Quad to the
test. “To me the Suzuki seemed to
be the most reliable and durable quad out
there, which are two very important factors
for being successful in the QTC.”
Stated Bougher. “Also the King Quad
has a great airbox design that really helps
in the mud and water obstacles. It really
made a difference in keeping the water out.”
In addition to the King Quad’s durability,
another reason Jamie chose it was that it
didn’t need a whole lot of aftermarket
parts to make it a competitive machine.
Cernic’s, Bougher’s main supporter
for 2007, set up the quad for him, but with
only three days before his first race, Bougher
had limited time for testing and tuning,
but luckily, there were no major issues
with the quad. “The quad performed
well all season, it held up really good
despite having limited resources and limited
time for working out any glitches or maintenance
issues.” Stated Jamie. A Yoshimura
exhaust system, Maxxis tires with Tire Balls,
Suzuki skid plates, Dalton Industries Clutch,
and a Precision stabilizer were the only
modifications that were done to Bougher’s
King Quad, but the Utility ATV took the
abuse of each race in flawless fashion.

Bougher also raced in the GNCC Series
and finished on the 4x4 Open Class
Podium three times with Suzuki King
Quad in 2007, and he finished an impressive
5th in points for the year despite
missing 4 races |
Bougher was the only racer in the WPSA’s
Pro QTC that was on a Suzuki 700 King Quad
and was in direct competition with the Can-Am
and Arctic Cat teams, but regardless of
the stiff competition, Bougher held his
own through the season. “It was really
difficult at times, but with the support
I got from Cernic’s and the King Quad
being such a reliable machine, it really
helped a lot throughout the season.”
Said Jamie.
We expect to see Jamie back on his Suzuki
at next years WPSA Pro QuadTerrain Challenge
and the GNCC Series, and hopefully with
a little more support to help make his 2008
season a little less hectic.
