Dustin Wimmer Signs Deal With
Team Suzuki / Yoshimura
Las Vegas, NV (9/24/06)
- Its Official, Dustin Wimmer has joined the Team Suzuki
/ Yoshimura ATV Motocross Team for 2007. Today at the
Dealer Show in Las Vegas, NV Suzuki announced the exciting
news to all its dealers during its evening presentation,
and they emphasized that wins on Sunday produces sales
on Monday. This dynamic pair will surely be a winning
combination, and the young gun from Pennsylvania is excited
about his new role with Suzuki / Yoshimura.
It was a logical selection for Suzuki after Wimmer
and Gust went at it round after round in the WPSA Series
for the Championship with only a point separating the
pair on several occasion, and in an incredible race
to the Championship, “Digger” Doug Gust
was able put his Suzuki LT-R450 out front to claim the
first every WPSA National Championship.
Dustin was first seen test riding Doug Gust machine
after the final round of the ATVA Motocross Nationals,
and he was fairly tight lipped about his ride, but the
writing was on the wall. After making a trip out to
California and meeting with the Suzuki Team Managers,
Dustin Wimmer has made the decision to join the race
team and signed a two year agreement. Gust and Wimmer
will surely be a potent pair on the track, and Jeremiah
Jones also plans to stay actively involved in team off
the track to help insure Suzuki can claim yet another
championship.
Congratulations goes out to Dustin Wimmer for an incredible
year of racing and becoming Suzuki / Yoshimura's newest
factory rider.
