Team UXC Racing's Michael Swift Wins Unadilla GNCC
Don Higbee Third in 4x4 Senior 40+ Class

Michael Swift - Can-Am Renegade Utility ATV GNCC Racing 4x4

Michael Swift took his sixth win of the season in the U2 class on his Can-Am Renegade ATV in New York

Shelbyville, TN (9/10/2013) - Stretching the legs of the hauler, Team UXC Racing’s Michael Swift and Don Higbee headed north into the top of the map and into the Unadilla GNCC. This would be the first race back after a long summer break for some and the weather was cooperating for the massive crowds that would show up. At a cool mid to low seventy degrees and no rain in sight the track conditions remained stable with some dust as the day wore on.

Michael Swift settled his number 207 Can-Am Renegade 800 on the starting line and waited for the call from Rodney Tomblin. As the flag dropped Swift was able to head into the first turn right behind one other rider in second place and tried to settle down for a long day. The time to get around the rider for first place came mid way through the first lap and gaining space between the two was all Swift could think about. “We had a nine mile track with plenty of motocross style sections. The trails were not really tight but it seemed we only had room to get around the other riders in the moto sections.” Said Swift.

The largest attendance this year saw over 360 riders line up yet only 351 would record at least one lap. “I think our biggest obstacle outside of our class was the lapped riders who seemed to come in sections of ten to fifteen at a time and it allowed the second place rider as well as the others in my class to catch up.” The Team UXC Racing Can-Am Renegade ran well the entire race and it all came down to a last lap fight to finish on top. “Hammering through the whoop sections this Renegade handled every bit of my abuse. It never ceases to amaze me the strength and over all performance of these machines.” Claimed Swift. Michael Swift would indeed go on to collect the top spot in the U2 class and fifth overall for the day.

Don Higbee - Can-Am Renegade Utility ATV GNCC Racing 4x4

Don Higbee finished third at GNCC Round 10. Higbee sits second in the 4x4 Senior 40+ class

Don Higbee and the number 640 Can Am Renegade would also tackle the tough terrain at the Unadilla track to get a grip on the number three spot. “We had a great run on the UXC Racing Can Am Renegade at Unadilla. We ran in 3rd all day in the competitive 4x4 Senior class and moved ourselves into second with 3 miles to go.  We were able to make up 3 minutes and 25 seconds on second place during the last lap.” explained Higbee

Team UXC’s Don Higbee is still sitting in 2nd place in overall points and is well prepared to finish the season with solid results.  Don owns and operates a dealership in Casper Wyoming and has many desert races under his belt. However this season has been a new game for him and learning the difference between the two has been tough at times. “This season has been nothing short of a great time, and a learning experience as well.  The primary reason I race is to be able to leverage my race experience and turn it into useful information that my customers can use.  My retail numbers are up this year at my dealerships, Driven Powersport’s in Casper and Destination X in Gillette. The racing part and brand awareness is definitely a driving factor for that success.” Says Higbee

Team UXC Racing knows that the eyes of the general public are upon them at every event and traveling as well. This is where Team UXC feels they excel to give back to the manufacturer in representation at the track and abroad. Team UXC Racing strives to use progressive information to help Bombardier/Can-Am fine tune an already great machine into the best it can be. “Since the very first Outlander win in Yadkinville North Carolina in 2006 the Outlander branding as well as the addition of the Renegade has successfully walked its way to the top of the ranks in each perspective class. Whether it be the general trail rider or the race rider who needs that extra info to get out front Team UXC is here to help but we could not do this without great equipment ourselves. In our humble opinion Team UXC feels the consistent race wins as well as the professional presence at each event has increased sales for dealers in the industry.

Team UXC Racing heads into the last three rounds of the GNCC series starting with “The Car Mate Gusher” in Foxburg PA. Join us for some great cross country racing!
