2009 GOLDSPEED
EMX European Quad Championship & 2009 Quadcross
of Nations ATV Race Schedule
Europe (12/2/2008) - Following
the November UEM Commission meeting held recently
in Luxembourg, provisional dates for the 2009
GOLDSPEED EMX European Quad Championship have
been released. The six round series has been
combined with World Championship Sidecar GP's
and will include two fantastic new venues for
the four wheeled fraternity, with the format
for the Quad races changed to three twenty minute
plus two-lap motos. The dates and venues will
be ratified by the UEM Management Council later
in November and are as follows:
May 16/17 - Gdansk, Poland
June 6/7 - Varsseveld, Netherlands
July 25/26 - Slagelse, Denmark
August 8/9 - Kegums, Latvia
September 5/6 - St. Jean
d'Angely, France
September 12/13 - Rudersberg,
Germany
In addition to this 2009 will see the introduction
of a Quadcross of Nations as a trial run.
As it is unclear how many teams will enter,
this event will be combined with the Sidecarcross
of European Nations on the 26th/27th September
at the fantastic Jauer circuit in Germany,
with the aim of holding a stand-alone event
in future years if the event is well supported
by the Quad fraternity with sufficient entries
to facilitate this. Although all the precise
rules and details are yet to be finalised,
the format will see each Country enter a three
rider team with practice and timed qualification
for gate position held on Saturday, with all
three riders from each country taking part
in two races of twenty minutes plus two laps
on the Sunday, the best five results from
each team determining the winner. The rules
will be similar to those used for the sidecars
when there are up to ten National teams present,
with prize money for each team plus start
money for each rider. The finalised rules
and details should be available in three to
four weeks.
