Walnut, IL (5/11/2009) - This weekend
was one to celebrate for Can-Am Warnert Racing’s
Cody Miller as he made a hard charge to take his
first ever Pro AMA ATV Motocross Championship podium.

Miller charged hard to earn his first podium
finish in the Pro class | Miller’s moto one performance was impressive
as he came off the line in the number six spot
at Sunset Ridge MX Park, and wasted no time taking
over fourth place. Miller stayed strong and consistent
despite pressure from Jeremy Lawson. Miller did
fall to fifth place before crossing the finish
line, but more than made up for it in moto number
                                two.
As racers left the gate, you could hear a bit of
surprise in the announcer’s voice as he called
the holeshot, but no one was more surprised than
                              Cody Miller. “I couldn’t believe I got
the holeshot and was out front like that,”
said Miller, who led for one lap before Chad Wienen
took over the lead. Mill would eventually fall to
fifth place where he battled with veteran racer
Doug Gust all the way to the finish line, but Miller
was able to hold off Gust and hang on to fifth place.
                              Miller’s consistency and perseverance earned
him second place overall. “It really felt
great to be up on the podium. It gives me a lot
more confidence and now I really feel like I belong
up front,” said Miller, who is determined
to make his appearance on the podium a regular thing.

                                  | "It
really felt great to be up on the podium.
It gives me a lot more confidence and now
I really feel like I belong up front" | John Natalie was looking great during Saturday’s
practices and it was looking like a good possibility
he would be on the podium, but a moto one crash
off the start resulted in a flat tire, which sent
him to the pits and hampered his efforts. Not
one to take it easy, Natalie was determined to
make up for it in moto two.
Natalie got off to a mid pack start but quickly
began to pick off the competition and soon worked
his way into the number four spot. Natalie was
pressuring Jeremy Lawson for third when Lawson’s
axle broke. Natalie capitalized on the situation
and began to pick up speed now that he had taken
over third place. Although he began to close the
gap on second place, there was not enough time
for him to make a move for the number two position,
so Natalie hung on to his third place finish.
“I was feeling really good out there. Now
I’m going to go home and train hard because
when we go to Steel City, I’m going there
to win it,” said Natalie determinedly.

Natalie has a moto 1 crash and hampered
his efforts for a podium finish | The Warnert team will have three weeks of training
before they head to Steel City on May 24th for
round number six of the 2009 AMA ATV Motocross
Championship series where Natalie and Miller are
both looking to make the podium.
