Warnert’s
Beasley, Buckhannon, & Swift Remain Undefeated
at Big Buck ATV GNCC

Union, SC (4/16/2009) - The Warnert
team was once again unstoppable in the A.M. classes
of the 2009 GNCC series with Cliff Beasley, Bryan
Buckhannon, Rick Cecco and Michael Swift all leading
in their points class races.
A big kicker off the starting line had many racers
taking soil samples, but the Can-Am Warnert team
was lucky enough to avoid any casualties. Cliff
Beasley, who has gone undefeated in the 4x4 Lites
class, repeated his success this weekend, despite
encountering an issue in his class that he has
not been confronted with in a long time. “I
got passed!” exclaimed Beasley. “That
was the first time I’ve been passed and
I just couldn’t have any of that, so I figured
I better pick up my pace a bit.” Beasley
immediately took action and reclaimed his lead
before the end of the lap. Beasley went on to
win the five lap race with a time of 02:08:29,
which gives Beasley an impressive 23 point lead
over second place.

Bryan Buckhannon
finished 6th place overall on his Warnert
Racing ATV
|
Bryan Buckhannon had a great day out on the track.
Buckhannon took second off the line in the 4x4
Open class, but quickly took the lead in the first
lap. Buckhannon has been working with different
set ups on his bike and made a few changes that
seemed to really give him an edge. “The
new set up made a big difference. This was my
best race of the year so far. I’m really
happy about it,” said Buckhannon, who finished
with a time of 01:59:19, which earned him an impressive
6th place overall in the morning classes.
4x4 Limited class racer, Michael Swift took his
fourth straight win of the season as well. The
number 205 Can-Am grabbed the holeshot and checked
out. Swift finished with a time of 02:04:09 and
holds a seven point lead in the points race. Swift,
who seems to make his wins look effortless, admits
that his practice time has been rather limited
lately, but for good reason, as congratulations
are in order. “We have a baby on the way,”
said Swift, who has been busy preparing for the
newest addition to their family. Swift and his
wife are expecting their new arrival in August.
Although Swift has been a little busy, he has
no intention of letting his championship status
slip away. “I’m here to win it!”
said a determined Swift. And with a little luck,
we could hopefully see the next generation of
Can-Am Warnert champions from the Swift family.

U2
Class points leader Rick Cecco
|
Rick Cecco continues to hold 1st place in the
U2 class points chase. Cecco has been consistent
in his finishes and round number four was no exception
for him. Cecco led for the first lap, but fell
back to second in lap two. Cecco rode strong and
consistent to finish in second place with a time
of 02:02:34. Cecco’s time put him in a comfortable
11th place overall.
In the afternoon Pro race, Chris Bithell and
Brent Sturdivant both got off to a mid pack start.
Unfortunately, Sturdivant dropped back due to
mechanical issues. Bithell remained strong and
began to gain momentum, working his way into sixth
place, but a mechanical issue in lap four forced
Bithell into the pits.
Round number four of the 2009 GNCC series is
scheduled for April 18th in Hurricane Mills, TN
where the infamous Loretta Lynn’s will be
the hosting facility. Loretta’s is a favorite
track among the Can-Am Warnert team, and should
help to put the team on top one again.
