                                Millfield, OH (6/12/2009) - Can-Am
Warnert Racing’s Chris Bithell charged hard
all the way to the podium at round eight of the
2009 GNCC series, while Michael Swift and Cliff
Beasley both took home wins in the morning classes.

Bithell was able to charge his way to the
podium | The John Penton round has developed the reputation
of being a round of extremes, either very muddy
or unbearably dusty, but that was not the case
this weekend. Favorable track conditions helped
propel Can-Am Warnert Racing’s Chris Bithell
to his first podium of the season. Bithell was holding down the number five spot
as he charged off the starting line in the XC1
Pro class and was pulling some incredibly fast
lap times, recording the second fastest lap of
the race in lap number two. Bithell’s amazing
speed allowed him to work into the number four
spot and in the last lap, Bithell would make his
move into third place, where he would stay all
the way to the checkered flag. “It felt
really good to be back up on the podium. The Warnert
team did a great job with my bike and I’m
hoping we will continue to be on the podium for
the rest of the season,” said Bithell.
“Is it getting old yet? Not at all,”
quipped 4x4 Limited racer Michael Swift in regards
to his eight race winning streak. Swift grabbed
the holeshot and checked out on the rest of his
class this weekend. Swift powered through even
the roughest terrain and managed to avoid the
many bottlenecks that formed during the morning
races. Swift’s lap times were consistent
with those of the nimbler 450 classes and earned
him his class win and the number three spot on
                                the podium.

Swift is on a stunning 8 race winning streak | Cliff Beasley also put the hammer down in the
                                4x4 Lites class. “I don’t like losing.
I was very glad to be back out front again,”
said Beasley who crashed at the last round and
broke his six race winning streak. But Beasley
was back on top this time, grabbing the holeshot
and never looking back. Beasley led the 4x4 Lites
class from start to finish and still maintains
a very healthy points lead in his class. Rick Cecco had an amazing comeback after a spectacular
crash in the final lap. Cecco made his way into
first place by the second lap and held that lead
for two laps until he came to the motocross section
where he came up short on a double and went flipping.
Cecco was unhurt and determined to reclaim as
many positions as possible before reaching the
checkers and made an incredible charge back to
fourth place in his class and landed in the number
eight spot overall. The team will get a three week break before heading
to Snowshoe, WV on June 27th for round number
nine, where Michael Swift is looking for another
win in order to wrap up the 4x4 Limited class
                                championship four rounds early.
