New Berlin, NY (9/17/2009) - Can
Am Warnert Racing’s Clifton Beasley wrapped
up the 2009 4x4 Lites Championship at Unadilla this
weekend, which also saw wins from Michael Swift
and Rick Cecco, and the return of Bryan Buckhannon,
who broke his leg in round seven.

                                  | Rick
Cecco now hold a comfortable points lead
after his win in the U2 Class | The team was
excited to return from the summer break and made
it known they meant business going into round
ten. Clifton Beasley played it smart for round
ten, as he knew the championship was his if he
could take home another class win. Beasley chose
good lines and kept his focus as he cruised for
four out of five laps in second place. Beasley
kept it in cruise control until the final lap
when he put the hammer down and took the lead
and the 2010 4x4 Lites Championship. “It
feels really good to give Can-Am and Warnert another
championship,” said Beasley, who plans on
winning the final three rounds as well.

Buckhannon was back in action at Unadilla
after a broken leg healed | Rick Cecco also took home the win in the U2 class,
which puts him in a comfortable points lead and
in line for an early championship. “I think
if I am able to take the win at the next round,
I will have the championship wrapped up,”
said Cecco, who has been riding strong and consistently
all season long. Cecco was in mid pack off the
line but wasted no time in taking over the lead
by the middle of the first lap. Once he was out
front, the number 399 Can-Am checked out, leaving
the rest of his class in the dust. Bryan Buckhannon who had been out of contention
with a broken leg was back in action and looking
good. Buckhannon had a battle on his hands however
as he, Scott Kilby and Daryl Rath were tire to
tire for most of the race. Buckhannon would eventually
cross the finish line in second place, putting
him back in the top five in the points chase.
“It feels good to get back out there and
finish well. Next round I’ll be looking
for a win,” said Buckhannon enthusiastically.
Michael Swift continued his pursuit of his first
perfect season, taking the 4x4 Limited win, but
not without paying a price. In the first lap, Swift
encountered an overhanging log going up a gully,
which not only broke his helmet but also jammed
his neck. “I wasn’t about to let it
stop me. I really want to win and get that perfect
season,” said Swift, who wrapped up the 4x4
Limited championship before the summer break.

Swift took the 4x4 Limited win, even after
an injury during the race | Round eleven of the 2009 GNCC series held on
September 26th at Yadkinville, NC and it promises
to be an exciting one as the U2 championship could
be decided if Rick Cecco takes another win..
