Wienen Motorsports' Wienen & Brown 1-3 at Wildcat Creek MX
AMA ATV Motocross - Round 4 - Wildcat Creek MX - Rossville, IN - May 11, 2013

Thomas Brown & Chad WIenen - Yamaha YFZ450R ATV
#1 Chad Wienen took this third win of the season at Wildcat Creek MX

Galena, IL (5/15/2013) - The Wienen Motorsports SSi Walsh Yamaha presented by Maxxis Tires & Team Vollmer team was back on the podium this past weekend at Round 4 of the 2013 Mtn. Dew ATV Motocross Pro National Championship, sanctioned by AMA. Chad Wienen went 3-1 for his third overall win thus far this season and Thomas Brown finished 4-4 for his fourth third place finish this year.

In moto 1 both Wienen and Brown got off to a bad start, coming out of the first turn toward mid-pack. Wienen made quick work of the field and was able to find the fifth place position by the end of the first lap. Putting his head down and digging deep, Wienen was able to drive his way up to the third place position before the end of the moto. Brown also climbed his way through the pack and was able to salvage a fourth place finish.

Moto 2 faired much better for the Wienen Motorsports duo as Brown pulled his first career SSi Decals Holeshot Award and Wienen came out of the first turn in second. After battling for the first place position on lap one, Wienen took the lead and was able to set a comfortable pace until he took this third overall win so far this season.

"We came off the gate with a much better start in moto 2 and I was able to find the front of the field quickly. My YFZ450R was really working great out there for moto 2, my Fox Shox were really dialed in and I was able to put the machine where I needed it to be. I knew if I rode a comfortable pace and rode smart I could stay out in front of the field and take the moto win," said Wienen.

Brown was settled into second with only a few laps into moto two and after a battle with one of the veteran riders, Brown found himself along the side of track. Brown was able to come back into the field but now sat in the fourteenth position and had a lot of work to do to get back to the front of the field. Brown was able to work his way up into the fourth place position and grab his fourth consecutive third place podium finish of the season.

"Grabbing my first holeshot award of my career made for a really exciting weekend. My Malaska Motorsports engine and Maxxis Tires were really working together to pull me to the front of the first turn," said Brown.

Wienen still holds the series points lead heading into the midway point through the season and Brown is tied for second 26 points behind Wienen.

Round 5 of the 2013 Mtn. Dew ATV Motocross National Championship continues May 25 at Sunset Ridge MX in Walnut, IL.
