Chad Wienen earned his sixth consecutive overall win at Unadilla ATV Motocross

Galena, IL (7/16/2013) - Wienen Motorsports SSi Walsh Yamaha presented by Maxxis Tires & Team Vollmer's Chad Wienen took his sixth consecutive overall win this past weekend at Unadilla Raceway in New Berlin, N.Y. at Round 8 of the 2013 Mtn. Dew ATV Motocross National Series, sanctioned by AMA and fellow Winen Motorsports rider, Thomas Brown just missed the podium placing fourth overall for the weekend.

As the gate dropped for moto 1, Wienen came out of the first turn in second and was able to make a pass into the lead before the end of the first lap. Wienen continued on to lead the remainder of the moto with a comfortable lead and take the first moto win of the day. Brown got off to a bad start in moto 1, starting just inside the top ten. Brown had to work his way through the pack to find the front of the field. Brown found himself in the fifth place position by the end of the second lap and had an on going battle with the rider in sixth to maintain his position. Brown was able to advance into fourth with a few laps to go but with a few turns to go lost the position and crossed the finish line in fifth.

Moto 2 gate dropped looked the same for Wienen as he came out in the second place position again. However, Wienen was unable to make a pass for the lead but held a comfortable position in second. Wienen secured his seventh overall win for the 2013 season and holds a 58 point lead heading into Round 9 of the championship points chase.

Brown got off to a better start in moto 2 and came out of the holeshot in fourth. Like Wienen, Brown was unable to make any advances on the field and finished out the moto in fourth. Brown finished just off the podium for only the second time this season grabbing fourth overall for the weekend. Brown currently sits second in the championship points chase with a ten point advantage over the rider in third.

Round 9 of the 2013 Mtn. Dew ATV Motocross National Championship Series, sanctioned by AMA continues July 27 at Red Bud MX in Buchannan, MI.
