Phoenix, AZ (8/5/2014) - Lonestar Racing’s David Flores claimed a podium finish in the Production A class at round seven of the 2014 WORCS series and rounded out the top five in Sunday’s Pro-am ATV class.

Straddleline ORV Park in Washington state was the hosting facility for this round of the series and featured tight trails and trees, something that is not common for other venues in the series. Despite the different conditions, David Flores was able to finish well.

In the Production A class, Flores grabbed the holeshot, but ended up hitting a tree root at the halfway point of the race and got stuck. Flores was able to get loose and charged hard, and caught up to the leader. Flores battled hard, but ran out of time before he could make a move and settled in for second place.

“I didn’t want to battle too hard because I knew that Sunday’s race would be even tougher and I wanted to save myself a little for that. I still finished really well and I am happy with second place,” said Flores.

In Sunday’s Pro-am class, Flores didn’t get the start he wanted and was stuck behind a slower rider in the tight trails, which cost him time. Flores pushed hard and was able to get by but an issue with his carrier late in the race slowed his efforts a bit. Flores still held on to round out the top five at the checkered flag and is still third in series points.

“My JRi shocks worked really well for this track. It was really tight out there and it got rough, but my set up felt good. I just put my head down and tried to ride a solid race, but my carrier failed and I got stuck. I plan to come back and win the final two rounds and try to win that championship,” said Flores.
