WPSA PowerSports ATV Tour Season Opener at Oak Hill Raceway
May 3-4, 2008 , Decatur, Texas

White Bear Lake, MN (2/22/2008) - The WPSA’s PowerSports ATV Championship Tour will kick off the 2008 season at Oak Hill Raceway in Decatur, Texas on May 3nd and 4th with the ProTaper/MSR/QuadBoss ATV Open Championship. Jeff and Dawn Oldenburg, new owners of the facility, continue to upgrade the track amenities as the season opener approaches. The Oak Hill facility features one of the most ATV friendly and motocross challenging tracks in the nation. Excellent viewing, over 200 RV spots and plentiful “flat” parking areas are just a few of this nationally recognized facilities attributes.

“We have enjoyed a highly workable relationship with Jeff and Dawn Oldenburg since way back in the 90’s.” said Scott O’Malley, President of PowerSports Entertainment, Inc. “We had our initial conversation with the Oldenburgs about a year ago and with Tucker Rocky coming on as a series’ sponsor and it being literally in Tucker Rocky’s backyard, we wanted to spread our footprints around the nation and we all decided that Oak Hill would be an excellent venue to host the opening round this year.”

The Oldenburgs have been race promoters in the Minnesota area for almost twenty years before acquiring the Texas track and through their involvement in snocross and motocross in the Minnesota region have become a favorite promoter of racers and fans in the area. They have continued to raise the bar in promoting off-road racing and now, with the Oak Hill MX facility in Texas, will be able to bring their collective expertise to the WPSA’s PowerSports ATV Championship Tour. “We are extremely excited to host the opening round of the WPSA PowerSports ATV Championship Tour here at Oak Hill Raceway. “ Jeff Oldenburg said. “Quad racing has long been a part of our program and to bring this top level event here is just plain awesome! We are looking forward to seeing this event here in the great state of Texas.”

The WPSA’s Scott O’Malley added. “We had heard great things about the Oak Hill Raceway so we sent a representative out to take a look at it. We found that the infrastructure was great and that the track would be a phenomenal track for us in both Quad Terrain and MX. In addition to that, we’re working side by side with Tucker Rocky to enhance the promotion of the event in the area and we’re expecting great things to happen when we kick off the season in May. To put it plainly…It’s the right place to go at the right time of the year to start our season off.”

Oak Hill Raceway is located in Decatur, Texas, just a few miles northwest of the Dallas-Fort Worth area. For more information on Oak Hill Raceway go to www.oakhillmx.com.
