Cypress, CA (8/25/2008) -
Yamaha Motor Corp., U.S.A., has taken two of
the outdoor industry's most prestigious honors
-- earning both of Field & Stream magazine's
2008 "Best of the Best" awards for
off-road vehicles. This is the first year the
publication's editorial staff handed out separate
awards for an ATV and a Side-by-Side (SxS) vehicle,
and they recognized Yamaha for offering the
best of both worlds in the Grizzly 550 FI with
Electric Power Steering (EPS) and Rhino 700
FI.
"Yamaha is extremely proud to be named
'Best of the Best' for both the Grizzly 550
and Rhino 700 by Field & Stream magazine,
one of the most recognized and respected names
in the outdoor industry," said Steve Nessl,
marketing manager for Yamaha's ATV/SxS group.
"Yamaha is more involved in the outdoor
community than any other ATV manufacturer, and
that helps us stay in touch with outdoorsmen's
needs. The people at Yamaha who develop these
vehicles make them the toughest, most versatile
and off-road capable ATV and SxS vehicles and
that shows in the reviews and awards we have
received. We're excited to win the first-ever
'Best of the Best' SxS category as well as our
second in the ATV category - especially in the
same year."
The Grizzly 550 FI was introduced this summer
as Yamaha's all-new utility ATV. The new Grizzly
boasts many of the same features as the big
bore Grizzly 700 FI, which also earned a "Best
of the Best" award in 2006. The Rhino 700
FI first entered the off-road scene last fall
and has quickly become known as the best in
its class with fuel injection, unmatched terrainability
and an automotive-type cab that seats both a
driver and a passenger.
The 2008 Field & Stream awards are featured
in the September 2008 issue of the magazine.
