                              13. Nelson led both motos from starting gate to
checkered flag to take back-to-back wins while Noss
was equally consistent with 2-2 finishes for the

Dustin Nelson took back-to-back wins at
Speedworld | Nelson, a two-time series titleholder, into the
points lead with five rounds remaining in this year’s
                              championship.
 With Speedworld’s wide, fast motocross
track set up perfectly for quads, Nelson used
an open practice session on Friday night to acclimate
to the lighting, and when Saturday evening came
he was ready. The tactic worked perfectly as he
powered out of the gate to grab the holeshot in
the first eight-lap moto ahead of rival Jeremie
Warnia and Yamaha-mounted Noss. Reeling off fast,
smooth laps, Nelson kept his Yamaha at the head
of the field for the entire event, with Warnia
close behind initially, then fading as Noss put
his own YFZ450R in control of second place. At
the checkered flag Nelson enjoyed a comfortable
five-second advantage over Noss for the Yamaha
                                1-2.
With his confidence at a peak, Nelson put together
an almost carbon-copy second moto, again powering
his YFZ450R into the lead at the start with Warnia
and Noss following. This time, however, Noss put
his Yamaha into second place after only two laps,
and then had to defend the position from Warnia
for several exciting laps until finally breaking
free. But the night belonged to Nelson, who ultimately
finished a comfortable four seconds ahead of Noss.
“Warnia is the fastest competition I’ve
had in years,” the defending ITP QuadCross
champion admitted afterwards. “But for me
to be ahead in points right now plays right into
                                my hands.”
