Besides all the fun and games, Yamaha also lined
up a freestyle show with their top motocross freestyle
riders including Jeff Tilton, Tommy Clowers, and Nate
Adams. They all busted out some incredible tricks
on Yamaha’s back yard with Nate Adam throwing
out some variation backflips, but it would be Snowmobile
stunt master, Jimmy Blaze, stealing the show by busting
out a backflip to grass on a Yamaha Phazer snowmobile,
which had the crowd going wild.

To my disappointment, there wasn’t a single
activity planned with an ATV at the event, which is
insane considering Jimmy Blaze was allowed to backflip
a snowmobile out of its element to grass without even
having either Travis Spader or Pat Brown mount an
ATV for the event to show their incredible jumping
talents as well. The only sign of an ATV was Bill
Ballance’s YFZ450 on display, which was the
ATV he won the Elsinore Grand Prix on for the second
year in the row.

Despite the rapid growth in support for ATVs over
the past couple of years, the truth remains that the
factories are still extremely cautious about their
involvements with ATVs because of fall out from the
late 80’s, but atleast it hasn’t slowed
Yamaha support for ATV racing at the track, and for
2007 they have five factory ATV riders in the lineup
with #1 Bill Ballance and #201 Traci Cecco going after
yet another championship in the GNCC Series. #30 Travis
Spader will be focusing on the WPSA, #199 Pat Brown
will be racing at the ATVA MX Nationals, and #94 Dustin
Nelson has just signed a two year deal to compete
in the Yamaha / ITP Quadcross Series.

Besides their factory riders, Yamaha is also has
expanded it support rider program to include, GNCC
riders, Brandon Ballance, Michael Houston, Brandon
Sommers, and Kevin Yoho, and for motocross, Matt White,
Chris Riley, TJ Dietrich, Chris Tait, and Thomas Brown.
With a talented lineup of riders on blue for 2007,
Yamaha chances of securing atleast one national championship
is very high and multiples is not out of the question,
and it is great to see Yamaha showing its support
for all forms of racing.
