Yamaha Supports Minnesota ATV Riding Clubs and Trails
Yamaha and the All-Terrain Vehicle Association of Minnesota Help
Fund State’s First Comprehensive ATV Trail, Club and Dealer Location Map

Cypress, CA (3/31/2007) - Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A., and the All-Terrain Vehicle Association of Minnesota (ATVAM) have teamed up to fund and produce an all-new, comprehensive Minnesota State ATV Club map. The new map is the first ever to combine local riding areas and trails with information on local clubs and ATV dealers.

The objective of the map is two fold: to show Minnesota ATV and Side-by-Side (SxS) riders all of the appropriate riding trails and areas, and to encourage riders to become more involved in their local riding clubs.

“We hope that through these maps Yamaha can help to generate continued interest in local riding clubs as well as responsible riding,” said Steve LaMotte, district manager for Yamaha in Minnesota. “Members of these clubs are the ones out there creating and maintaining sustainable trails. Without their hard work and all of our support we would have little in the way of riding areas.”

For its part, Yamaha helped fund the production of the map with cash and product donations, including a Rhino 450 Side-by-Side (SxS) that is being raffled on the ATVAM web site (http://www.atvam.org/). Last year Yamaha donated funds to help finance an ATVAM-commissioned economic impact study conducted by the University of Minnesota Tourism Center. ATVAM raised funds from members to help support the production of the map and oversaw its development.

“ATVAM last year received a great number of requests for more information on where to ride and local clubs to join in Minnesota,” said Phill Morud, ATVAM president. “Through our ever expanding community outreach, legislative efforts and grass roots projects, we are building a successful model that we believe ATV riders and organizations around the country can follow. The ATVAM sincerely appreciates Yamaha’s generosity, which has been instrumental in making this map and projects like it possible.”

Free copies of the map will be available this spring at Yamaha ATV and SxS dealers in Minnesota, by calling the ATVAM at 800-422-8826 or emailing to ATVAMoffice@atvam.org, or online at www.atvam.org. To find Yamaha dealers in Minnesota go to www.yamaha-motor.com.
