The Maxxis/Sparks/Elka/Roll Design supported team was the only one to not have any issues out on the track, which was a huge advantage for them and gave them 240 laps at the end, which was 8 laps over second place, giving them the win. “We had a blast this year. This win really means a lot to us. This year we were ready to ride and we were pretty prepared. We had a lot of support and minimal problems; our team really pulled together to make this happen. This was the second year here for Beau and me, but this was David’s first time and he did a great job,” said Matt Hancock.

The teams were required to pit at least every 2 hours or they would be penalized, so pit strategy was a big factor that played into the 12 hour endurance race. The H&M Motorsports / Pro Motosports team had quick pit stops thanks to Allan McCostlin & Tire Blocks' Kenny Sanford

“This was my first time up here and it was really exciting for me. Since it was so long, it brought in different strategies, and it was really exciting for me. I didn’t really know what to expect, but it was so fun. We had so much support from Elka; they really took care of us. It was an awesome experience and I can’t wait to come back next year,” said David Haagsma.

Their strong performance had them in the running for the win in the final heat, but a mechanical issue late in the race dashed their hopes for the top of the podium. The team completed 76 laps in the final segment of the race, which put them in second place.

“The first session went really good, we ended up second overall the bike was running great, we had a flat tire but that’s it. The last session was pretty knarly and I had a bad crash about 30 minutes in. The Can-Am was an awesome bike and we won last year with the exact same setup. The Elka Suspension worked great on the PLX Sports Can-Am DS 450 and Ultimate Performance did a great job building the motor. We had a great weekend and we are pretty satisfied” explained Mathieu Deroy
