finishes after Moto 1 issues | Rockstar Makita Suzuki's Doug Gust, who got tangled
on the start in moto one, reached thirteenth at
the checkers and ended the second moto in sixth
for eighth overall. Baldwin Motorsport Honda's Josh Upperman had
a great start to moto one but faded back to sixth
then suffered a rough second moto relegating him
                                to fourteenth for ninth overall.

Gee made the switch back to red for 2009
and finished 10th overall as he lead the
blue Fly Racing train with five racers all
with matching gear & helmets | Pro
Rookie #123 Nick DeNoble rode strong early
on in both Motos, but faded in the final
laps, but once he builds the endurance,
he will be a serious contender | Rounding out the Top 10 overall was Canadian
Greg Gee who switched brands in the off season
and entered 2009 on a Honda.
The weather was perfect, the stands were full
of spectators and the track had incredible media
support for the only California round on the tour...As
one of four Pro rookie's entering the 2009 season,
Nick DeNoble got "too excited" and ran
out of steam after narrowly pulling the holeshot
in his first moto as a Pro rider...Houser Honda's
Harold Goodman and Warnert Can-Am's Cody Miller
connected in the rolling section of the track
in moto one forcing a disappointing moto (and
day) for both...Mitch Reynolds is not only a rookie
but also pilots the only Polaris in the field.
